AngioJet® Series 3000 System Overview
Possis was the first to offer a mechanical solution for thrombectomy with the introduction
of the AngioJet® Rheolytic™ Thrombectomy System in 1997.
Today, after over 350,000 patient cases, AngioJet Rheolytic Thrombectomy is clearly the physician's top choice with over 1900
AngioJet Systems installed worldwide.
Maximizing vacuum at the catheter tip
The unique design of the AngioJet System allows it to generate
maximum clot removing power at the tip of the catheter where it is
needed. Our proprietary Cross-Stream® technology creates powerful
fluid flow around the catheter tip, entraining thrombus toward
the inflow windows. Inside the catheter, the thrombus is fragmented
by the saline jets into microscopic particles and removed from the
body. Other devices create suction with syringes, vacuum bottles or
pumps outside the body and then transfer the vacuum through a long
tube which significantly reduces effectiveness.

- The drive unit activates the pump, monitors safety and assures
balanced flow and volume of the saline solution. This monitoring
and control allow the system to remain iso-volumetric.
- The single-use pump set pressurizes the saline that energizes
the catheter and creates the vacuum.
- AngioJet Catheters have been refined and improved through
several generations and now represent the most effective and
deliverable devices ever offered by Possis.

A family of catheters that fit the procedure
Our thrombectomy catheters are the first choice of physicians because
they are safe, easy to deliver to the lesion and work with the guides,
guidewires and platforms that are preferred by each interventionalist.
The AngioJet System allows doctors to choose from a range of
catheter designs that address the range of patient needs and types of
thrombus. Our thrombectomy catheters are unmatched for profile and
deliverability. AngioJet Catheters provide the lengths needed to reach
distal vasculature or to work conveniently in dialysis access declot.

The AngioJet System includes several catheter models that are marketed for thrombectomy of coronary arteries and bypass grafts,
peripheral
arteries, peripheral veins, and AV access conduits. See product Information for Use for specific and complete prescribing information.
